Smoke alarms save lives! Don't Leave Your Home Without One!
A working smoke alarm can increase your chance of survival in a fire by 50%! Change the battery in your Smoke alarms every six months during daylight savings time and test them once a month! The Omaha Fire Department will have fire trucks install smoke detectors for FREE with no cost to the city! Every fire truck is responsible for a designated area of the city or Fire Management Zone (FMZ). Call the Public Education Bureau at 444-3560 and we will assign the fire truck in your zone to contact you to arrange an appointment!
