School VisitsFire Apparatus Displays Fire engines and fire fighters may be requested to visit your school. Fire fighters will give a brief overview of the fire truck equipment, fire fighting protective clothing, and fire safety. Please keep in mind that emergencies take priority. Contact your local fire station for more information.
Flash Flash is the singing and dancing fire truck that entertains and teaches children about fire safety. The presentation takes approximately 45 minutes and covers:
Flash presentations are for children in grades K-2 and needs to be scheduled in the months of November and April. Flash is not available for all functions. To schedule a presentation, contact the Public Education Bureau or call them at 444-3560.
ABC's of Fire Safety Offered to pre-school children, 4-5 years of age to teach general fire safety techniques and what a firefighter looks like when completely dressed in fire fighting equipment.
The presentation consists of a 10 minute video on "Sparky's ABC's of Fire Safety" followed by the firefighter talking about fire safety and putting on all his/her fire fighting gear. To schedule a presentation, contact the Public Education Bureau or call them at 444-3560.
Fire Training Trailer This trailer is designed to teach school age children and adults how to escape a fire in their home by using theatrical smoke inside a trailer to simulate a fire situation. The students then practice the escape by climbing out the window. The trailer is co-owned by Omaha Fire and the State Fire Marshal's office in Lincoln. The Omaha Fire Department schedules this event with the cooperation of local school districts.
