Community Awareness for the Active Killer Threat

What should you do if you find yourself in a situation where there is an active killer threat? It's imperative that we as a community face this issue head on and be prepared.

The First Responders Foundation invites you to join the Omaha Police and Fire Departments for a presentation to address the issue on Wednesday, April 11th from  6:30pm-8:30pm in the Millard North High School auditorium at 1010 S 144th St. Omaha, NE 68154.

"The Omaha Fire Department is honored to be part of a multi-agency and community presentation that reflects the proactive approach regarding the protection and safety of our community. The presentation on "Community Awareness for the Active Killer Threat" demonstrates the professional response from all the organizations that are involved during a Rescue Task Force deployment. The Omaha Fire Department is proud to stand with our partners in this endeavor to maximize the safety of all the citizens of Omaha and surrounding communities."
-Chief Dan Olsen, Chief of Fire

"In response to national incidents of school shootings and other active killer events, the Omaha Police Department is putting on a community awareness session. Community attendees will be given information on the current and past climates for the active threat and will be exposed to Omaha Police response readiness as well as what a citizen can do if they find themselves in an active shooter scenario. The event is designed for community awareness and is in response to numerous inquiries forwarded to the OPD on the subject."
-Chief Todd Schmaderer, Chief of Police

"Public Safety is my top priority and most important responsibility. The safety of our citizens is paramount. In response to national events, the Omaha Police Department is taking the lead to educate our community on law enforcement readiness, prevention, and what a citizen can do if they ever find themselves in a deadly scenario.  We work with our school districts to develop school safety strategies so students have the safest learning environment possible."
-Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert

  • Dr. Jim Sutfin, Millard Public Schools Superintendent
  • Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert, Mayor
