The Omaha Fire Department's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Division is responsible for ensuring that all OFD paramedics and EMTs are properly equipped and trained to provide high-quality emergency medical services to the community. The EMS Division is overseen by Battalion Chief Bill Bernard and is staffed with three Paramedic Shift Supervisors, an EMS Supplies Manager, a QA Officer, a Training Officer, and one civilian secretary. In addition, the EMS Division receives oversight from civilian Medical Director Dr. Paul Schenarts, MD who is assisted by three shift physicians.
